Hi, I am the author of a new book Billion Dollar Winner. The book is available via Amazon.Com. My book tells the story of Valencia (Val) Banks Freeman. Chicagoan, WestSider, Malcolm X College
graduate, Owner-Publisher of BlackSide Press, the largest community newspaper
in the city, Community Activist and winner of one billion dollars from Lotto-50;
the first entire All-Fifty-States lottery. What? An activist winning the lottery?
How can that be? True Activists don?t buy lottery tickets. They protest against it.

Billion Dollar Winner tells the story of what happens when one of the main
individuals who protested the loudest against the Lotto-50 lottery game turns
out to win the very lottery she so actively disparaged. Will Val remain true to
her activist nature? Or will the love of money which is at the root of all evil
change her and make her the hypocrite everyone calls her when they find out she
won the money? And just how did someone who never bought a lottery ticket in
her entire life come to possess it to begin with?

My name is Julius Thompson and I'm the author of a trilogy. I'd love to have a book signing at your bookstore. Please visit my website: www.jtwrites.com. Here's a short bio:
Julius Thompson?s journey to compose a trilogy began in 1995. The fourteen-year fictional journey of character Andy Michael Pilgrim from Brooklyn, to Philadelphia and finally Atlanta is now complete. In this pilgrimage, readers experience places that are filled with hopes, dreams, challenges and fears that make us human.

The novels that make up the trilogy are: A Brownstone in Brooklyn which was published in 2001, Philly Style and Philly Profile in 2007 and The Ghost of Atlanta in 2009. Julius Thompson received the Georgia Author Of The Year nomination for Philly Style and Philly Profile from the Georgia Writer?s Association in 2007.

He is writing his fourth novel, Purple Phantoms, which is a story about the haunting of a mythical high school basketball team. He is currently a Creative Writing/Publishing Instructor at Evening at Emory?s Writers Studio.

I am interesting in finding publishing companies along the greater Gulf Coast that produce and publish prose and poetry by black-American artists. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.
